Q.U.M. 2.00
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
QuickBBS User Manipulator 2.00 is under development but will only be available
for those who donate a sum of money (Read more about it in the DON'T! file).
You have now tried a slightly older version of QUM and can now decide wether
you want to throw it into the big bit-bucket or if you want to recieve an
enhanced version 2.00.
Some of the features under preparation/consideration for 2.00 are:
■ More than one questionnaire supported
■ Editor for the questionnaire file
■ UserCheck. Scan through all records and report any wierd users with names
defined as wierd, userlevels greater than yours (glub!) aso
■ Instead of the limited 18 lines for the questionnaire, a scroll (browse)
function could be very usefull + wrap-around for the long lines.
■ A real database for the questionnaire file for fast search could also be
handy.
■ Upgrade new users from a list: " No. Name SecLvl Upgrade ? (Y/N) "
Instead of taking one user at a time.
■ When upgrading it would be nice if the user got a flag/attribute or two
set automatically together with the security-level.
■ A more advanced user report/statistic generator.
■ Support for FILEDOOR's UPLOADS.LOG could also be nice to have. (What did
he upload and when?)
■ A more intelligent user packer (deleter), like:
IF (UserLevel < nnnnn) AND (Upload < nnnnn) AND (Download > nnnnn) Then
Zapp!
■ A less filling help file is also needed - Some sort of compression would
be nice. And an index so the help would be instant instead of the delay.
Well, that's some of the ideas I'm currently thinking of (working on) - Maybe
even more will be added as time goes by?
The reason to why I'm only going to release QUM 2.00 (and greater) to the
supporting people is, that one feels a bit foolish, putting a zillion of hours
into the programming of a program and all one get's out of it is: "Hey, great
program... when will the next version be released!"
I actually thought (in the beginning) that I would recieve more than one (1)
donation, but no...
Yours truely,
